Architect Robin Nanney (formerly of Gehry Partners), sensitively restored and modernized this unique 1952 cabin set on a private knoll. A long driveway leads down to a gated courtyard with built-in seating around the pool, offering expansive views of the canyon and Studio City lights below. Inside, a harmonious blend of both rustic and modern aesthetic are synthesized: original wood cabinetry and flooring throughout, antique Wedgewood stove and stainless steel kitchen appliances, cork flooring, mid-century modern light fixtures, Heath tile work, LG washer and dryer, Hansgrohe fixtures and Duravit bath accessories. The largest of the three bedrooms, with original floor to ceiling wood paneling, opens to the front courtyard, pool and view, while another leads to a second private garden and view. A fireplace in the living room rounds out the possibilities for this retreat-like refuge.
